Ukraine law draws no distinction between property ownership rights of non Ukrainian citizens to those with Ukrainian nationality.  Aside from land ownership, any foreign individual is free to purchase real estate in Ukraine and right now may be one of the best time to consider an investment in Ukraine Real Estate.

 

Documents required for purchasing real estate in Ukraine:

1. Passport (translated and notarized in Ukrainian)

2. Ukraine taxpayer identification number (find out how to do it here on your own or we can do this for you with power of attorney).

3. If the buyer is married and is making the purchase without his/her spouse presence – a copy of spouse’s consent to buy property in Ukraine will be required (translated and notarized in Ukrainian).

 

Property in Ukraine can be purchased by a representative of the buyer thorough the power of attorney.

 

Steps to purchase real estate in Ukraine:

1. Once the property has been identified and price agreed upon, the buyer and seller must sign a preliminary purchase agreement. With the agreement a deposit is placed which is typically 5% of the purchase price.

2. Buyer conveys the balance of the payment on an agreed date during the presence of a notary.  At this point the title of the property is officially signed over to the new owner and is registered within the state structure.

3. The seller agrees to vacate the property by an agreed date, which as standard is one week.
